GENERIC NON PNP MONITOR FIX WINDOWS 10 DRIVERSI reinstall chipset drivers for my motherboard because on the PCI-to PCi bridge in device manager it would say ''device not started''. Next, what I did and I am not sure about this one. I kept trying that until windows recognized monitor as generic pnp monitor. Then I tried to ''power cycle'' it by unplugging power cord from monitor and then plugging it back again. Then, I noticed that one of my monitors was not recognized by the microsoft display driver (it said that it was generic non-pnp monitor). Then, in device manager I went on display adapter and uninstall Microsoftt Basic Display Driver and installing again automatically. GENERIC NON PNP MONITOR FIX WINDOWS 10 UPDATEI uses DDU to uninstall gpu drivers and prevent chose option to prevent windows to update drivers on its own.I did a number of things so I am not sure which one worked. It has been two months now and everything seems stable. I suspect on a faulty port or a conflict between Windows 10 and Radeon drivers. The issue started happening somewhere around March, I am not sure exactly. No matter what I do, generic-pnp monitor installs itself without any warning, sometimes one day after I uninstall it and sometimes few days later. tried every port HDMI, Display Ports (using adapters because my monitor does not support DisplayPort), DVI-D cable uninstalled all monitors from windows device manager re-applied thermal paste on GPU because I thought it was overheating issue at first reinstalled windows 10 both in LEGACY BIOS and UEFI (versions 19) PSU: SILVERSTONE 750W (Model number SST-ST75F-GS) GPU 2: integrated Intel 530 (disabled in BIOS) MOTHERBOARD: Gigabyte z-17- HD3 (F22f - latest available BIOS) When windows is installing this ''ghost monitor'' sometimes there is a slowdown when I move my mouse. Even after removing and disconnecting the extra monitor, it keeps coming back. When I go to Display settings in Windows 10, an additional monitor appears but with the lower resolution. When that happens my screen flickers and I can hear sound like a new device has been plugged in. Windows 10 keeps installing genering non-pnp monitor randomly and without warning. For the past 4 months, I've been having a rather strange issue with my PC.
